Developed and designed by: The Point-7 Black Team. A
team of professional sailors and designers who have proved themselves
by designing the winning sail for the World Champion in the PWA Slalom
World Tour. When Ricardo Campello joined our team, he discovered true
love when using the Swag in Maui, Cape Verde or in any perfect
Development Target: Developed with focus on drive
and release at the right point, giving the rider the perfect performance
and great fun. No flapping when overpowered, no useless drag,
increasing its stability.
Outline: A shorter boom length and a high
aspect design ensure that the wind would be unable to exercise too much
pressure along the battens while exiting the foil. Cut away leach
outline to ensure no flapping on the 3-batten sail construction.
Battens: 3 batten construction, with
important profile along the 2 lower battens to allow a good deal of
profile for stability and drive. The battens sit behind the mast to
become completely neutral when riding.
Clew and Eyelets: One ring position to save weight, placed at the perfect height to bring the correct balance to the tension of the leech.
Leech, Rotation and profile: The leech
opening is more central, and there is no need to have a loose leech on
the upper part disturbing the sail, therefore increasing the stability
once again. The rotation allows stability in the jumps, but still keeps
the correct amount of ON/OFF profile.
Body Material: 3 structural bands pass through the
sail to hold the 3-batten construction in place, especially when landing
fast rotating jumps. 100% assembled by X-ply laminates, mixing the base
with the 5 mil Anti UV-Black X-ply Laminate, the entire body with the
4mil Anti UV-Black X-ply Laminate, and 5mil X-ply transparent window.
X-ply batten pockets for lighter weight and better reflex.
Rigging: The Swag is straightforward to rig, requiring
an easy amount of force to counter its luff curve to set the rotation of
the profile. No need to look for extra lose leech, as the cut out on
the leech outline will substitute this. Playing with the outhaul will
boost up the power or increase control, but do give it good outhaul
tension until you find your perfect performance. Tighten the bottom and
top batten, but just remove wrinkles on the middle without over
